Hermetel modular cleanroom system OYS TAS Phase B

OYS TAS Phase B Cleanroom Delivery

Providing modular cleanroom solutions for isolation rooms and pharmacy facilities in a demanding hospital environment.

Oulu University Hospital is modernising its facilities to improve patient safety and operational efficiency. As part of the TAS Phase B construction, Hermetel delivered a cleanroom system for isolation rooms and pharmacy areas, covering a total of 1 100 square metres.

The solution is based on a modular element system designed for environments where particle control, low static electricity, airtight construction and reliable safety performance are essential. Hermetel’s prefabricated walls, windows and components support both high cleanroom standards and user-friendly functionality.

Supporting controlled and safe hospital environments

Isolation rooms place strict requirements on structural performance to support infection control and protect both patients and staff. The OYS project required systems that could:

  • maintain precise airtightness
  • minimise particle shedding
  • withstand hospital-grade cleaning procedures
  • meet fire class EI 15
  • provide effective sound insulation
  • support flexible installation in a complex construction phase

Hermetel’s cleanroom system was selected for its proven reliability, modular construction and suitability for high-risk medical environments.

Modular element system designed for demanding conditions

The structure of each isolation room is built using a modular panel system with integrated accessories. These prefabricated elements enable consistent quality, fast installation and predictable performance across the entire facility.

Hermetel’s components are designed to generate as little static electricity as possible and avoid particle release, helping maintain controlled conditions in both isolation rooms and pharmacy operations. Windows, doors and tailored accessories integrate seamlessly into the system to support clinical workflows.

Meeting strict safety and performance requirements

The cleanroom system provides the environmental stability required for modern hospital operations. Key features include:

  • airtight construction with precise hermetic properties
  • fire class EI 15 performance
  • effective sound insulation to support patient comfort
  • durable materials suitable for frequent cleaning
  • consistent installation quality through prefabricated manufacturing

This approach improves both safety and long-term maintainability while supporting effective infection control procedures.

Delivering cleanroom solutions for critical hospital functions

In 2023, Hermetel delivered cleanroom systems for both the isolation rooms and pharmacy areas of the OYS TAS Phase B project. The installation covers 1 100 square metres and supports the hospital’s wider redevelopment programme by providing reliable, modular facilities that meet stringent medical and regulatory requirements.
